When we first designed the initial range of pop-ups we always steered away from doing a pineapple. They have been done to death, and let’s face it, everyone does on in some shape or form.

There is no doubt that it is a great flavour and that the acidic, citrus, zesty profile is very effective as a colder water/early spring attractor. If we were going to release one at all, then it had to be as impressive as the rest of our range.

 Fortunately, a close friend, Craig Livingstone, had a recipe that he and a close circle had used to great effect on Redesmere at the turn of the millennium. At the time, when many were casting out a standard pineapple, this edge contributed to the capture of most of the highly sort after ones from what was an extremely pressured water and dare we say it; the Pineapple B*stard was born. 

As a recipe it’s something that’s quite personal to him and that group of anglers so they have asked that we don’t reveal all, but the profile is Mainline Pineapple and a blend of two fruit-based flavours, one from the DT Baits’ stable and the other from Richworth.
