In an ode to the original Autumn Harvest, I spent an awfully long time in trying to come up with a very modern take on Hutchy's classic attractor, especially for us.

After a lengthy gestation period, involving months and months of blending various flavours and tweaking the levels on each, it was agreed that the finished article was close enough to remind all and sundry of yesteryear, whist remaining suitably different - and unique as a standalone product in its own right.

We released a limited run of hookbaits in an amber-glass jar set during the summer of 2022, and I'm delighted to say they proved an instant success to those lucky enough to lay their hands on a tub.

So, following a further, recent, complementary twist to the recipe, we have decided to release them en masse using our bespoke, ultra-buoyant, washed-out pink, and yellow, 12mm pop-ups.

If you're not familiar with the scent of old, think; the warm smell of dark berries such as blueberry, blackberry and blackcurrant, alongside damson and black cherry, with a sweet, creamy backnote.

These have a lovely, strong, yet subtle scent, that will almost certainly be unlike anything you have smelt before!

It is closing on two years now since we released our original ode (in pop-up form) to the grandmaster of flavours, and in that time we have continued to have a little tinker here, and a little tweak there, just to see if we really could fully replicate the original profile... sadly, it would appear that he took that secret, along with the many others that swarmed around in his mind, to his grave, in true swashbuckling style!

Even if he had still been here, it is highly unlikely that he would have been able to fully solve the puzzle either, as our favourite bottle actually smells poles apart from the majority of the others in our collection - quite why that is will never be known now, but it is probably down to no more than a master of his craft, without an exact recipe to follow, doing what we have over the last couple of years - adding a teeny bit more of one thing, subtracting a little of another, or by chucking something completely new into the mix during another late-night foray at the bottom of the garden whenever a brainwave struck!

While the above is a glaring admission that we still haven't conquered Everest, we believe we've come closer than anyone else to this point in time, with a finished product that is nigh-on identical in terms of colour, viscosity, PH balance, and obviously, smell and flavour.

In short, this latest variant is a carbon copy of our Harvest recipe in 2022, but with two distinctive new notes present, giving it a slightly zingier, fruitier profile, with a far more floral scent - it is certainly much closer to our favourite bottle than it was before.

As with our previous offerings, it is presented in an individually labelled amber glass bottle, albeit this one is a little smaller on account of not wanting to charge through the nose for what has become an incredibly expensive side-project. Once again it is also strictly limited to just the ten bottles - although in the quest for greatness, don't rule out the possibility of another bite at the cherry via a v.3 at some point in the future...
